I'm about to fit new door seals - the seal right round the outside of the door.

What glue should I use? (I assume it needs glueing?)

And any tips for getting the old perished ones off?

Thanks,
Nick

alot of scraping and time gets them off, i used a 'blunt' screwdriver, carefully.

i used a tube of evostick rubber glue, did the job pretty well. Some glues can melt rubber so read label. I also had four small plastic clamp type things (got them from machine mart i think) which were very handy to keep areas in place whilst glue went off, then moved on to the next area. One door at a time.

I used 3M weatherstrip adhesive (used in the automotive industry), you can get it here, got mine off ebay but had a quick look no one is selling any at the moment.

I have an unopened tube left, but I will be away in France for 2 weeks as of tomorrow.

Works very well.

Thanks folks. All done.

Just got to work out how to close the doors now :)

Cheers,
Nick

No, but I went for "best quality reproductions" from another well known supplier. I take it the OEM parts are better?

I had the same problem, but from JK...shocking quality, fortunately it was a temporary fix until the bus goes for paint....I'm now on the lookout for the best available once painted.....

It's a minefield though, loads of conflicting information. :(

Thanks for the offer!

Making do at the moment - I've hacked some excess off with a stanley knife and moved the stirker plate out a bit. And with a good slam they will close. If they don't give a bit after a while, I'll buy some proper seals.

Just spent an "enjoyable" day Rust Bulleting 3/4 of the underside. It certainly sticks - guess they'll laugh at my silver hair at work on Monday :)
