Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forums and could do with little advice on fitting a pair of seat belts in to the rear of my newly purchased 1971 VW RH Danbury camper van.

Can I use exsisting screw holes or do I need to make some adjustments? Any photos of fitted seat belts would be helpful.

Thanks

Hi there

Have you tried just Kampers web site they sell rear lap belts for campers they also have a phone number you can call before ordering for advice as i think it says seat belts cannot be returned ... its worth a look :D

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

unless your camper was a converted panel van you should have seat belt fittings (fixing points) in the back under the back seat and under the side windows. Then depending on your layout they are quite straightforward to fit either 3 point or 2 point lap belt.

Cheers Nick.

Hi..I've just fitted rear seat belts to my Devon.

Have a look at the 'sticky' at the top of the technical forum.

I used this and found it very useful. Loads of pictures.

The Just Kampers rear seat belt kit comes with clear instructions and pictures of a Bay install.

Believe me, If I can do it, you will have no problem.

I bought 2 inertia seatbelts to go in the front on our Danbury and moved the static ones into the back.
Our 72 camper is based on a microbus so just behind the wooden backrest were mounting holes for the top of the seat belt and then under the rear seat are the factory mounting holes. The carpet was even trimmed/cut so they are accessible.
If i recall correctly i think the outer ones are on the wheel arches. Then there are 2 pairs of holes so you can fit a middle lap belt.
We move our sink into the middle so we can have two passengers in teh back with 3 point belts on.
