FOR sale is my 1971 VW T2 Westfalia tin top.
This is a genuine early bay camper with disc front brakes.
After buying this small project nearly 2 years ago a busy life and no spare time has made me let it go to someone else.
I bought it with a new mot ready to roll.
It drove 50 miles home really well but cut out at every junction.
I stripped the carb, fit points, condenser, rotor arm, cap leads, coil, set tappets and fitted inlet manifold gaskets.
After a bit of fiddling I got it to idle but when the choke comes off it stalls and struggles to start.
I came to the conclusion that it is a carb issue and planned on fitting twin carbs but never go to do it.
It's solid being an import and the underside isn't covered in underseal so all is visible.
The battery tray is starting to rust through but is still useable and this has bubbled slightly on rear quarter panel but hasn't got any worse in my ownership. Easy repair.
Interior is good but the wardrobe has been cut down (by previous owner) so all windows are visible.
Good paint, shines up nice but not showroom finish. The roof is sun burnt and could do with a fresh coat of paint. Orange body with white roof.
No MOT but can't see why it wouldn't pass with a weekends work.
Tax exempt, virtually rust free lhd tin top Westy, needs to be used and enjoyed.
Sad to see it go but it has to be done.
Needs trailering away.
Get this while you still have time to use it.
Ask any questions and I will forward pics to email addresses
£8650 ono, need my money back. It's not the cheapest but we'll worth it.
I will even throw in a large drive away tent.
Please don't be put off by my description, just been honest.
The underside is solid.
Need it gone before the end of summer, offers! Try me.
