I hate the fact that every time i go my van to do some work it seems like i have a bloody mountain to climb. All the hours i do on it just don't seem to having an effect.

I never seem to have enough money to buy the bits i want no matter how hard i save, all the other people on here doing restos all seem to go at lightning speed and they always look great.

I can never get things right with it.

Really considering getting rid of it.

vent over thanks for listening

Bloody hell at what point in my life did i turn into such a grumpy old git with no vision vws used to be my favourite thing in the world?

you wont be needing that accelerator linkage then ......  ;) just joking its called ups and downs mine are mostly downs but the up are kicking in here and there stick with it Frankie.

Whoah.... Time out fella, best thing to do is walk away from it take a few deep breaths and and go and do something else instead, then come back to it when the mood strikes, remember there is no real rush .Oh and never ever sell it .. :D

You are not alone man, it took me 2 years to finish my last project, it is taking me about 2 years to finish my current one, and my keeper(riiiiiight) I won't even start on her until about 3 months from now. I have a family and a full time job so it is never easy. It sucks to be poor and not be able to buy all the bits at once like others do but I've always done rolling restos it's all about driving them who cares about the looks at first. But then again what do I know I'm just venting here

Wooow that felt good.

Lightning speed and look great. Have you had a look at mine recently.

Hang in their fella, as said your not alone in that, take a break gather your thoughts, funny but me and Uber Cool were talking the other night about a comment he read in a mag about just doing 1 hour a night as your all fired up and nothing gets in the way of that first hour, then the first coffee mug comes out, your mind starts to drift and you end up staring at the size of the task before you

You know its all worth it in the end.....

i too do one hour a night (when the going is good) and my bus is slowly creeping its way to completion.

if your bus was done too quickly you would make some rash decisions about how you would want it to look.

the longer your bus takes to evolve the more chance it will be a keeper.

stick with it mate and take your time and it will be yet another bus that i am very envious of :D

hang in there fella ..

At Christmas I got a diary and set dates for work to be done ...

I'm still on January !

But ....

I realized that I'm doing it at a pace where I'm actually happier with the work and don't get too frustrated when things aren't done on time ... After all , if I wanted to be on time then it's not the vehicle for me !

.. The delay helps my funding too ..

.. And you know you don't wanna sell !

Hilly

Cheers guys, I'll hang in there. Your encouragement keeps me going :D

I wish I could put an hour aside a day cos I'm paying a fortune in rent at the garage which is a 15 minute drive away from home... by the time I get home and sit down... well... zzzzzzzz

Booked a week off in April to try and get majority of bodywork finished and prepped - stay with me

funny enough so have I  the families off to the inlaws, just me and the bus fridge and beer :?

OK thats not sounding so good, may end up with less productivity than at first predicted.....
