The fuse that controls the indicators blew at the weekend for the second time. Replaced with 16amp fuse.....is this the correct size or should I go up.......Cant trace the reason for it blowing...Any ideas??

The fuse should be 8 amps no more. Putting in a bigger fuse now makes your wiring loom the weakest link not the fuse. What happens next is a fire as the wiring goes up. The good news is you will now know exactly where the fault lies, bad news is you'll need a new bus. You need to be methodical, consult your manual and start by checking the lamp holders and the wiring around them. Does this occur when turning right or left? Check the wiring around the indicator switch? Check the wiring around the indicator relay. Do you have a hazard switch? Check around that as well. You are looking for anywhere the wiring might have rubbed through and is shorting to earth.

Thanks for the replies....The fuse blew the first time when I had removed the dash panel to fit a clock....This time it blew when i indicated to turn left, infact I thought that the fan belt had broken because the ignition light came on. When I cancelled the turn signal the ignition light went off! When the hazzard warning switch was on the indicators flashed but so did the ignition light. When the fuse was replaced everything worked as it should. Any clues in the explaination?????

Vaguely remember similar problems occurring due to the fuel gauge connections on the back of the gauge pod shorting on the case.
Might be wrong but worth a check?

Funny you should say that Loxy...What I forgot to mention was the fuel guage went to empty when the ignition light came on then back to normal when the turn signal was cancelled. So indicators, Hazzard warning lights, fuel guage and ignition light must all be connected in some way.

Check carefully around you fuse box and dash panel for any connections that are touching or might touch. I suspect that what happened is when you disturbed the dash panel to fit the clock you inadvertently disturbed some of the wiring which would account for the slightly bizarre symptoms you have.

Think they all run off the same fuse, have a look here:
