Gear box differences?

Can anyone advise me on these gear boxes? they both look exactly the same except for the connections on the one on the left.... is it out of a beetle or something?

Never mind the gearboxes, what's happening with the Triumph 2000?

One on right has early bay front mount and switch for reverse light, one on left has later style mount. Count the strengthening ribs on those gearboxes. If either has six ribs you need never work again.

Its quite nice isn't it. I will ask if youre interested There's also a 1966 (I think) MG 99% rebuilt for sale for £500
