Gear lever and linkage

Hi all, now I've got the engine working, the gear lever was not right and thought I may need a new one, but just think it wasn't coupled right, after being under the bus the coupler seems a little slack so will change that. I'm wondering wether to change the support bushes as a matter of course, question is, can this be done with the gearbox and engine in place?

No, replacing the rear shiftrod bushes requires the engine and gearbox to be removed.
The front shift bushes can be done easily enough.

Thanks for that, is 13 the front bush and 16 the rear? Cheers

No, 15 or 19 is the front bush depending on year.
13 and 16 are the rear bushes, and 31 complete is the rear coupler.

Thanks for clarifying, may leave the bushes till I get the engine out again and just do the coupler. Thanks again

If you've got an original rear coupler, reuse the metal cage and just replace the bushings. Repro couplers are *****.
