hello all,

i had this gearbox knocking about for a while and wounded if its got a better ratio then my 69 early one, its out of a late 1700 bay van. Basiclly is it worth putting in mine or should i just sell it and if so how much are they worth, its all good

i was expecting you to have painted it pink/brown/yellow or something when i saw the thread title :lol: :lol:

not sure on the ratios, wouldnt think it would make much difference tho, unless it was a 2 ltr one
 
That's just the casting number.

You need to get the gearbox code, it will be CE, or something with numbers after it.

I might sell my built high ratio gearbox soon. I have a DK case & diff from an aircooled T25, with late bay window gears in it. It is mega strong & will take just about any amount of power or abuse you can give it. It was totally rebuilt & has only done 1000 miles. I removed it when I sold the van & fitted a stock engine & box. I had it on a 2007cc & was a great combo. I am not sure what it would be like on a stock motor. It may be too higher geared.
