I want to improve the looks on my recently bought campervan bumpers, but don't really want the expense as well as faff, getting them resprayed by a professional body shop.

Is there a way to hand paint them .. and if so, which paint would be most suitable.

The existing bumperts are black, although the original colour (of the plastic material) is white.

A colleague suggested matt black paint, sayinmg this is no 'in fashion'

thanks

You should be able to get acceptable results with a sponge roller. Bear in mind a decent finish is all in the prep so there will be effort involved. You'll need to rub down between coats.

I would use cellulose paint as it's easy to work with. There are various places on the Internet you can get it from. I managed to get some Sierra Yellow cellulose which is a reasonable match, so you should be able to get an original VW colour (if that's your thing).

Good luck! Post pictures when it's done...

Why don't you spray them yourself?
