has anybody bought a steering box from volks heaven?

the reason i ask is i mailed them asking about a recon box and got this as a reply

this could be normal,and im not slating them in any way

just sounds like it could end up no better than the one i have.

Dunno about steering boxes from them but I had a van 'cut' off them a couple of years back, and the product and service was superb Best Ive ever had mail order , probably.

sounds like your getting a rebuilt unit , and they were honest with you about it .

There good people, I would say that its a reasonable buy plus chances are an exchange wouldnt be a problem if it went tits up.... to recon a box you may be as well to find an old school engineering firm but that would take your van off the road... the other alternative is a late box and modify the fixings I posed this Q a while ago and got a response frm someone who'd done it.....

Ive had several from them and they were always mot`able and better than what i had...i also had to pay the service charge but it`s refunded when you return your old box without a damaged thread. Top guys with a top reputation and they like cider too!

forgot to say theyve been on the scene a bloody long time and are well respected

is it deffinately the box at fault and is it beyond adjustment?

theres a **** load of links in the steering all of which can have a big effect on the steering....

i agree with aaron from experience a good grease and replace drag link arm and hello MOT

its useable,adjusted it and its better but deffo the box thats the prob,my worry was that mabee its not as bad as some, i exchange it and the new ones no better,mabee me over reacting.it passes the mot with an advisory,
