Headlamp relay

The head lamp relay on my US import 1970 bay has gone, has the orignal vw 4 pin 1 on it, went to cool air and sent me euro spec 5 pin, £15. Then i went to Karmann Konnection and they sent me the US spec 1, turned out to be the same bit but with a bridge wire and piggy back terminal on it for £27! And they still don't bloody work :x Any idea's anyone???

You sure its the relay? Have you checked the switch, earths, fuses, wiring? you are local to me so if you need a second pair of eyes to have a look pm me as i had to sort a few gremlins on mine! ( found sometimes it is the one thing you overlook) Do you have a manualwith wiring diagram?
