Hi

Can any one tell me how i would go about putting heat exchangers on my 1971 early bay, with a 1300 single port beetle engine ? my engine currently has j tubes fitted. and my feet are cold !!! lol

Cheers Chris

Frankly I would not bother. I would change the engine. A 1600 bay is a sluggish vehicle, it was slow even in its day and in modern traffic its worse. With a 1300 engine in a bay it becomes a moving roadblock IMO.

For mechanical basics its best to get a manual rather than expect people to write one for you online. You can order one here :-

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=volkswagen+transporter&x=0&y=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

:)

I agree with Trikky2 - having no heating is the least of your troubles if you're expecting anything from a 1300SP!! If you're thinking of replacing your engine you might be lucky enough to find one with heat exchangers attached.

;)
