What model charger you going for mate?

I brought the CTEK MXS 7.0 just had to order the extension lead for it so I can get from under bed to engine compartment.

Where have you run through into the engine bay?? Spare wheel well? That's where i'm going from. Charger wire going in and 12v out plus wire from my Firetec system for LED warning lights up front. :D

Hi looks like a good place for the hook up, I thought about putting one in the engine bay, but this method will stop it looking cluttered maybe?

How have you attached the socket to the floor of the van, self tappers?

Self tappers would work fine but i just drilled a 3mm pilot hole and then used a 20mm long screw and it bite in fine :)

Also i put a dab of sikaflex sealent over the drilled hole before screwing up as this will help make a seal. See my last pic's on my build thread (link Below) :D

read your thread - that looks pretty waterproof and rust resistant. I don't have a hook up point yet, nothing to power  but if I do put one in this is a good inconspicuous place to site it. thanks.

If you lift rear seat right over on the right hand side about half way up, bit trick to get at from outside without putting on ramps

I was initially going to put mine in the engine bay, this was easier & I used the logic I'd have to walk past it (on drivers side) to get in van so I don't drive off still hooked up :)

nice work dude looks good. What extension did you order for your charger? couldn't you have just extended the cables with connectors?

I was thinking do I actually need to run the charger cables directly to the battery or could I just hook up to the common live of the leisure battery fuse box under the rocknroll bed and earth straight to the chassis

I could have just used normal cable but wanted to keep moulded plugs on charger if I wanted to remove it so got the Ctek extension (expensive mind for what it is)

I also toyed with running the feed via the fuse board under the seat but for similar reasons to above & I wanted to pop an inline fuse in it I just ran the extra cable but bonded down onto the chassis for the earth.

I opted to also fit a BBQ fitting for outdoor cooking. The BBQ fitting is just fitted to a multiple T piece so I can use fitted cooker, propex, or outdoor BBQ/cooker. Also, it means that mates can come and hook up and cook together!
