How to find my van's original supplying VW dealer?

Trying to trace my van's early history -

As above, does anyone know if there is any way to trace the original supplying VW dealer the van was first purchased from?

I know mine was Central London from the reg identifier YR (Format *YR ***F), but being a Dormobile, would it have been supplied direct from Martin Walters? (Folkestone?) Or would it have been ordered and collected from a central London VW dealer?

If your vehicle had been collected from Dormobile direct then it would have had a reg plate relating to Folkestone.

If your original reg plate relates to central London, the most likely supplying dealer would have been the St Johns Wood dealership I think.

The other large London dealership was Plaistow but I don't think the number plates issued to them would have been central London.

My 68 Dormy was bought from a VW dealers in Totton. Still have the original warranty card and service history.
The dealers are still there and I'm aiming to take it back there for the vans 50th birthday.

I think most were supplied to dealerships for selling on.
