what was the criteria that had to be met ..and what was the vehicle yous imported please..

i imported 3 years ago and they point blank refused, i guess the rules have changed.

i got it on mine and i didn't even have time to ask for it! i had all the bumf i could find to prove a champagne edition was rare enough to be worth it and before i had chance to send it in i had the bill at 5%...happy days.

URGENT!!

Hey guys, I just got my bus from the States and was refused importation by 'move of residence' so now I need to get an official valuation so they can calculate the VAT and duty 'due'.

How do I get this 5% and what are the criteria?

Beef would you mind either pm me or posting the info on here?

I have a 70 Panel project.
What was your declared/valuated value?

If I could an answer soon would be great!

Cheers

Here's a copy of the letter I sent to Kingstown Shipping. Steve sent me the original and I adjusted it for my Bus.

**
Dear Sir/Madam,

This letter is an instruction of authority for Kingstown Shipping to apply for the BTI, on my behalf, for the following vehicle:-

- 1970 Volkswagen Type 2 Westfalia Campmobile Campervan.

- VIN: 2302032757

The camper is in it's original condition with no modifications and is over 30 years old being manufactured in 1970.

It has the original braking system, suspension, engine and transmission.

The vehicle will be used for show purposes only and not daily driven.

It is left hand drive.

Engine is a 1600cc aircooled unit.

Original VW Pastel white colour.

Interior is original with a mixture of cream and yellow vinyl and an original Westfalia Campmobile camping interior including a rock & roll bed, cupboards, sink, buddy seat and elivating roof section with bunk bed.

The current value of the vehicle is estimated at £1450.00 sterling.

I also attach some photo's for reference.

If you require any further information please contact me using the above address or mobile number.

If you call and speak to Steve he may be able to give you some advise? I've always found him and Mark to be very helpful.
I hope this helps.
Chris.

Hi Chris,

That's brilliant, thank you very much for posting this so quickly.

I will send them a letter like this when I get an 'official' valuation.
How did you determine the value of your car, was that a conversion of your bill of sale?
What condition was your bus in?

Cheers

A
