Just been forced to strip inerior out, due to welding needed on the underside of the load floor. Welder concerned about setting floor on fire ( i was thinking about the insuance claim) :)

Its a good excuse to sort interior floor out aswel.

Couple of questions

1. Window surrounds look crap (panel van conversion) at the moment i have carpet type stuff stuck around the window, which keeps falling down.
Can i get somthing to go on them or do i neeed to cut more carpet/ material to go back on.

2. Before i put the wooden base floor down, can i use loft type insulation stuff to go under it for sound/ heat insulation.

Suspect i will have more daft questions as i progress.

1.You can get the puka perferated vinyl, from most restoration companies, or paint since it was a panel.
2.Most people do put a form of insulation/sound deadening down, check out the beeglebus thread Carole did a cracking job

use a contact type glue that doesnt dry to fast then you can move it around, I think you can even buy it in a can and spray it.

Most of mine was held in by screws into the wooden base on the floor. Now thinking about trying to make my own new interior/ units to see how it goes. Not into wood work so it will be a steep learning curve.

you'll want a ply floor (preferable 'marine ply' as is more water resistant) down, possibly with some sound deadening or else you'll get alot of road noise. Just screw the furniture to it once its secures to the van.
