thought i would start thread (if thats what there called!) to see what interior tops the charts. I started with the devon but am now favouring the westys.

let us know what your choice is by pics you tube what ever.

just a bit of fun! :)

I am very much torn between an early Westy and an Early Devon.

I think the Westy has the better bed set up and pop top roof design, but I love the English charm of the Devon. One day I would love to make a combination of the two in a RHD Early.

Obviously I have ended up with a Westy because of the availability of solid LHD buses and the roof works better for me.

Great question!!!!

Devon any time :)

even like the roof, after a weekend drilling the old rivets out an replacing :(, but works wonders and is soooooooooo more usable for me :)

as i mentioned earlier, my new interrest of the westy interiors has poked me into making one, i chose the So42 as its gotta be the rolls of them. this is the progress so far.

Gotta be the Dormy! theres nothing like waking up in a packed campsite with your bare backside winking through the curtains at everyone due to the height of the bed

Stock microbus (with Z bed hinges) for me. Most practical by far ;)

Do you remove the middle seat completely or how to you work it when you want to recline the seat to a bed?

Im early devon (wood not laminate) all the way. More hassle setting up the bed but i love them anyway.

Depends what I'm doing :)

Either remove the middle seat completely before camping, leaving the van as a 5 seater with (Dormobile under-seat) cooker and bed. I've got a wooden cabinet with a sink in the top to go behind the passenger side bulkhead when the middle seat is out.

Either that, or when camping, rotate the middle seat 180 degrees and lean it against the bulkheads if I want a lounge type seating area, or to carry more people, rather than a sink :)

Loads of room :)

simple no frills and effective. like the idea of the seats facing if you have a few bods in there.

Can't go wrong with a Westy imo. I've altered mine slightly to suit my needs better by removing the sink and replacing it with a Sony X-plode 12 inch sub-woofer  and ditched the overhead rear shelf, the Westy pervs will scream I know but hey

ive got a devon which i love (loadsa character),but its a pain screwing the bed legs in.
but i can see the westy being more useful.

i know what you mean about the legs, my plan of attack now is

arrive at site
set up sleeping area
then beers

failed once and got the last two muggled up :?

its REALLY hard work to screw the legs in late on at night, after a few beers and your a little worse for ware

here what your saying karl, Mr westy never made room for all the essentials but im sure the perves will appreciate it ;) .
the "perves" on the samber said about my westy looking interior that it was nothing like one? thought they were being funny but what they meant was it wasnt made of the same wood! but got some good feedback from it.
nice tidy devon sparky, like it alot, they are everso time consuming to make though. the travelling light pictures look like a real mans van.
