What a great weekend. First time at DATC and first time camping with early bay and will be back for more of both. Hope everyone got home safely and without any problems. Im still here and Cali bay and froggy are just over the way.
Great to put some faces to names, a big shout goes out to the neighbours Mr and Mrs Toffo and family for being great neighbours and thanks for the washing up liquid.
The show itself was great and a good mix for all types. The show and shine wad massive for a show of its size and was full by 9.30 i think. As most of you willagree i was a little shocked at the results, and i must thank everyone in the S&S that voted my bus into 2nd in class and to all the judges and organizers who placed me best in show. i am not looking forward to seeing that photo...........i was in major shock.
Well stricking camp now to move on to our weeks camping up at Ross on Wye. Will post some piccys when we get home.

Unfortunately we had to leave early on Sunday morning to have a few final tweaks done to our interior back at home (Couple of final photos to follow on the resto thread later this week), but not before I had a quick look round the S&S field. You are right, how quickly did that fill. Saw your bus and it looked really good so looks like all that winter work paid off - nicely done.

And of course we have now seen proof of this special relationship that still exists with Rocket Ron when looking at engine compartments  Enjoy Ross ...

And a footnote .... great for Dave (Is,Sit) to have such a well supported show especially after last year's being forced off with the weather - hats off to those other that helped him put on the show and special thanks to Faux for organising the EB section even though there was little space left for his own bus - probably due to allowing EB forum members in that have blue & white buses

Thanks everyone, nice to meet up with some old and new faces

We had a quick journey home - in less than an Elbow album :)

Great, great show. Location, set up, layout, everything. Thank you Dave and Team!

John - I didnt see you after Id seen the van. Superb job and awards are well deserved. Looks fab now inside and out. Respect.

Thanks to Froggy too for the bunk, whilst Im rambling ;)

Pics on my blog, if youre arsed ...

Same for us, and totally agree with you, we had a fab time, everyone we met was really friendly... Loved it!

I did meet another of the RAC's finest on the way home though! One of my rear drums had seized over the course of the weekend which led to some very warm goings on round the back there! Still all sorted very quickly and made it home safe n sound!

Already looking forward to the next outing.... Anyone going to Volkfest Wales next month? Is there EB camping there?

Congrats to dub dreams for 1st place in EB category!
Best show ever, made it down to a very foggy Bude at 7pm, even managed to overtake a vehicle in the motorway. Met some great folk as expected.
Thanks to the White westy mafia's for making room for us!
Harry & Sally

Great show in a cool location :D Thanks to Jon and all the organisers for their efforts :D was also our first eb camping and was good to meet some of you and sorry if we didnt see everyone but hopefully next time ;)
Had a good trip home apart from a hold up on the 25, which we detoured and got home to Tiptree at 7ish!
Will defo be on next years list with a follow on into devon and Cornwall maybe next year

Well what can I say, one of the best shows that we have been to!
It so great to met people with the same interest as yourself that take you on face value. Even when you have only ever exchanged comments on line and before the weekend your just a user name in cyberspace, the mind boggles!

Anyway, big shout outs to our neighbours Simo, (Yes that was me on the M4!) and to Clyde(have a great Holiday, fantastic S&S result!), Sparkywig, Strut, Bonso, Harry, Rusty lee
(thanks for the lend of the phone charger, Mrs Toffo says your a lifesaver!),Bears Dad, Faux, IsSit (Dave,John, thanks for sorting out a great camping field) and of course Ozziedog (nice shifter mate, but stay off of the Sailor Jerry).

Great to see all of you and if your ever in the Folkestone area the kettle is always on come on up and say Hi !

Here's my memories of the weekend, priceless!

Hiya Pete - by the time we realised it was you you were 1/2 a mile away

OOOOOohhhh,, what a show !!! ^^^^ Exactly what they all said, unfortunately ,, had to go to a christening on Sunday in Brizzal at 12. Left the Castle about three :? , missed the christening, and the spread after, but managed to catch up with all the little guys from the family before the end of the weekend  . Then I was dragged up the pub completely against my will  and made to drink Fosters and re tell stories from my latest adventure at the castle with all them bonkers lot from the early bay.
Gotta say, what a hell of lot of organising must have gone into that show, from the little seperated area for our lot, to the entertainment, to the people directing everyone, to all the V Dubs, and the catering, to the music, and the marshalls and the bike show (should have won really) ;) the facilities, and the shows for the Saturday and the Sunday !! Very very impressive, I take my hat off to all those concerned, and also big thanks. This is most probably the best show I`ve ever been too, and I had a fantastic time
Now,,,,,,,,,,,them earlybayers,,,, what a bunch of people they are !! You couldn`t move for someone trying to drag you into their bus / awning / gazebo / tent etc etc etc. And they were all trying to fatten me up (nice) and get me pissed. I drank everything from coffee, to carling, budweiser, fosters, carlsberg, whisky, sangria,,,, yes bloody sangria, vodka and every other thing you could think of in between ,,,,, and then it all went a bit haywire because some herbert who shall remain nameless got the bottle of sailor jerry spiced rum into circulation in the Ozziedog gazebo at silly o`clock in the morning after a fairly hefty drinking sesion on the Stella, didn`t you LUKE (Strutt) and tried to lead the old dog astray  . Sorry for waking you up Senor Sparkywig, and Mrs Sparkywig too,,,, but it was in a good cause ;) .
Didn`t meet one person there that wasn`t having a brilliant time, (sorry again Sparkywig) and also trying to make sure that everyone else was having a great time, and I think , that was the big difference.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Again,,,,,, Again,,,, Let`s do it again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

many thanks to the 'infamous' Ozzie and his most welcoming fire and gazebo!
Next time i might leave the rum at home...... ,

What a nightmare, M4 shut so got home from te Showground at 5pm after making sure that everything had been collected and the Castle grounds were clear. I would just like to thank everyone who has supported us over the last few years and this year. So happy the Show 'N Shine Bike Competition went well and it will definitely be happening again next year. Wipe Out,,, did you see the Show N' Shine on Sunday? I've never seen one so big!!! Big thanks to Jon aka Faux for helping out with the Early Bay VIP Camping area and helping to arrange the club display, I'm so chuffed that you guys won and will be arranging to get the trophy engraved asap. ;)

I'm glad everyone had a great weekend. A big thanks goes out to Dave and Antony for all their work, top guys.

Sorry for those I didn't get chance to say hello to, I had a busy weekend with marshalling, line ups and show and shine.

Same again for next year. 8)

Great show again this year, really enjoy this show, chilled and layed back. :D 8)

Thanks to Clyde for the Jump leads, as I drained my main battery not my leisure one.

Need to check my Zig wiring.

As promised my photos from datc, best vibe of any festival we have been to by far, great location/organisation/entertainment.
Perfect start to our summer holiday (last year we didn't make it out of our village but thats another story), from datc we headed to a very foggy Bude, Praa Sands, Perranporth & Glastonbury. No rain for 10days , good surf and no winds (not to mention no breaking down for 1000 miles). One of the highlights was turning up at tbe footy club after band finished asking if still serving to be told they dont close, (shock). Thought I took loads of photos but not the case, our 11yr old had a great time with the rest of the kids playing in the woods, takes me back to my youth!
