My Mrs always makes me take a Telly, spose if I didn't we might have to talk,
Never take a Kennel/Cage for my two they either sleep with my daughter & friend or us
Aways give the Dog's a Bath & haircut a day or two before our departure.

Just been converted to a 3 way fridge and although its big it takes up less room than the cool boxes full of blue freezer blocks.
Never take a telly or any other electical items, but do take a largeish gas BBQ, large Kyham and all the other assorted kitchen crap etc.
The trailer is full and loaded on top as well. 1600sp copes well enough but speed dose drop alot on hills.

I take this,

:D

And sometimes the family comes as well.

deffinately NO tv, and flat screen! we dont have a flat one in the house yet...

Cobb-tastic. We have a gas hob in the van but wouldn't leave home without the Cobb.
...But a TV  , what do you need one of them for? And four pairs of shoes each, and wellies, crikey!

on some of the hills we were down to 20mph,off m4 junction 47 going into swansea looking for signs for gower we were in second gear holding all the traffic up,van really struggled,if i dropped three pairs of footwear each it would not lighten the weight that much and as for the tv it weighs about the same as two bags of sugar,so all in all what was on the list we pretty much used apart from one fold down table which is more bulky than heavy(4lb).
yet on the way back the van sat at 45-50mph all the way apart from again the hills
gonna sell the awning anyway cos the weight of that and the fact that i was very OCD about the kids damaging the van or paintwork was really just tooooooo much for me so as far as our main family holiday we'll just stick to weekends in the van sleeping in the van and no awning and try those SUN £9.50 holiday's
all told the van struggled alot and feel it was just too much on the lump so awning is going,it's in the forsale section already.

I'd agree about the engine. Our SP has been dragging me, the missus, three kids, van full of stuff, towing a 500Kg caravan filled with food and awning and have only had to drop into third a couple of times. Sure, it won't win any races but chugs along nicely. Can also boil the kettle on the rear valance when we arrive

Take blummin loads with me!

Don't really like awnings, so take the bell tent or a large canvas tent usually

Including the 2 labs, but usually leave the OH at home

Kitchen is all fitted out in tillie, so dont worry about any of that other than bring the large 55l iceytek cool box, tripod and fire bowl

So i have excessive amonts of cushions...!

I like my comfort

For those cool spring/autumn (and Summer 2012 :( ) nights, we take a sleeping bag made from two king size quilts fastened together and lined with a flannelette cover. Very cosy, especially on top of a memory foam topper :D

I'm considering sacking my awning for anything but long hols as it's a ball ache to put up/take down - even though it's a kyham, still takes a couple of hours after factoring in the ground sheet banging all the pegs in - I'm essentially taking a large family tent with me that happens to have a door to my van - when I got a van I stopped using my large family tent...and got an awning...that takes longer, is smaller and is less stable in a blow than my old wild country tent but takes longer to pitch

Have to say - one essential my family insist I take is the Kampa toilet (a bucket with a lid) as it means that the 3 kids and my wife don't need to trundle to the loo's in the middle of the night, kids are young aswell so it means that I get woken up to take them to the loo so having a basic toilet is outstanding (especially when it's raining!)
