Batley, it's God awful!
Exploring different lighting options rather than the original interior lights, I have been looking at the LED lights that you can get on a strip and you cut to length, so i was just wondering if anyone had done it and that they get decent lighting from them and if so so light switches - anything funky?

I've bought a LED strip from the Dx.com website. I was referred from this forum for a car radio for a few quid and started browsing. They have a huge collection for little money.
But long story short, I haven't received it yet so haven't installed it either.

I did have a multi-colour strip on top of the cupboards in the kitchen and it lit up the entire kitchen.

Take a look at EL wire, that looks neater than a led strip

I've just bought two 5m strips which I plan to git this weekend so I'll get some pictures up next week. I plan to put a soft white strip in the front cab wired into the door switch then the funky 16 colour set in the back with works off a remote control

I can vouch for the effectiveness of slow-lane-Matts' LED setup, was parked next to him at Brighton Breeze.

Jeez, when he switched them on I thought it was either a raid by the old bill or a temporary landing strip opening!!!!

I have never seen lighting in a bus remotely as bright as that and very effective it looked to be, no dark areas or glare in the eyes like some can.

Personally I have just changed the festoon bulbs for '3 led' replacements in both the std interior lights which despite being in a different league to the above, are more effective than I was expecting.

Check eBay out for remote dimmers they are really cheap

Unfortunately LED's can't be dimmed in the traditional way.
To dim with LEDs you effectively just need to turn a few of them off.

They can be dimmed. Got a remote dimmer that does just that

I used some Ledstrips in my Dormobile, I think it was about 5m
They can be dimmed and it's some nice indirect lighting

I chose a "warm-white" variant, they use very little power and they are cheap

Apologies Martin, wrong end of the stick!
I assumed you had just meant a traditional dimmer switch (that you'd use on incandescent bulbs).

I had also forgotten about PWM

Carry on :msn4:

Gvee,

I have a traditional dimmer switch that is functioning with the ledstrips
