I was reading some blurb about caring for your leisure battery over the winter and it said give it a charge about every six weeks. It also said you need a special leisure battery charger as a normal charger will knacker it. I understand that the Halfords Maintenance Charger (£25) is OK for leisure batteries and you can keep it connected all the time. Can anyone confirm this please :?: Thanks all - and a Happy dubbing New Year.

should be ok i use a smart trickle charger that i got from ebay,
i have it permanently wired to the hook up so when i plug it to mains at home or on site it keeps the LB topped up.

Hi
Slightly different question how will my main battery be over the winter as it is completely flat at mo do i need to charge it every month?

I do with my Halfords charger and leisure battery. It just pulses voltage keeping it topped up and stops the plates sulphating.

Got one today, good for 25sheets.
charges then flicks over to keep it toped up when needed...jobs a good un.
Main battery took off tonight. Was full!! Guess as I start and run it to temperature every week. And run it for 10 miles if the weather is sharp... would have helped,
but gunner give it some pasty anyway. (Batteries aint cheap!!)
