Changing the interior of the van and looking for idea on what i could re use to house a sub, hydraulic compresser and beer and odds and sods.
LOOKing for something the same size as a westy sink unit, any ideas. not a suitcase or truck.

would prefer to reuse something that buy / make

any ideas the stranger the better really

jth

Cheers fella thought about that ,but i ain't about to hake up my progress dr pepper for it!
Bidding on a fridge on ebay at the moment, sounds awful but its the right size and i can gut it.
Still open to suggestions!

why not!!! i remember the first vw mag i bought had a travel article where the guy met a split with two 750quid surf boards on the roof and when they chatted to the owner, found out that it was merely for the "look" lol.

on a more serious note though, i thought that may be case. you may be able to one the the inners are shattered...

fridge sounds a good idea!

what about the sub in a vintage coolbox?

How about using one of the new retro ones from JK, and then giving it some patina? Much cheaper than a real 50/60's one?

What about a large wooden shipping trunk, or maybe a tea chest modded with a sub and amp in the bottom half, and storage on top?

Suitcase with speakers?

Maybe have a look round B&Q for storage ideas from the kitchen range, sometime some interesting ideas, flaps, and hidden things with gas struts and hidden compartments, things like that?

I have a compressor fridge and 2 burner domino hob (3Kw wok burner), hidden BBQ take off hose at the rear inside my OG westy cool box.

You can also get marine fridges to fit in pull out drawers with remote compressors.

You have quite a bit to hide away with all the hydralic gear!

Cheers,

Alistair

Sum nice ideas man, only thing to hide is the hyd pump as may move the sub to under the bed and thats not that big,
The fridge aint that expensive really 50 quid , alot cheaper than westy units etc. im still waiting for an answer, just thought i could put the pump in the bottom off the fridge and and make an insulated tray ie make the internals smaller and use it as a cooler , bin the electrics and freezer section.
Im still undecided, if this dont pan out ill find something down the tip or auction no doubt.

Thanks for the ideas. going to be lifting the floor up , its had many a can of stella spilt on it

oh the actual hydro pistons will be re mounted against the passenger bulkhead, show off style i guess, cannt really move that too far or have reroute an ass loada hydraulic hoses etc.

ta again. actually excited about the change more than you can imagine. and the guy who bought mine seems to be also, win win , brilliant.

When I was about six, I had a green VW MK1 Golf matchbox car with two surf boards on top, I kept losing the surfboards and was so upset that my dad bought me two more. Don't underestimate the "look".
