right the bus build up begins i have a 4" narrowed splitty beam being built with adjusters so the fronts not a problem but not sure what height to go at the rear, think its had 1 turn on the rear but i want it low but not stupid low might be able to stretch to some adjustable spring plates so i can get the rear wheels off.
ideas would be good and ideas on shox front and rear would be cool

Hi
Drop it another outer spline at the rear "notch out your spring plates"for now,fit your beam and check the stance,If your not happy then put the adjustable spring plates on and go a bit lower on rear "shocks im unsure at the moment as I have a 3" narrowed beam "balljoint" full drop on adjusters plus a 10mm turn 185/65/14 tyres and I have got 100mm clearance between arch/floor and tyre ,no interior and no engine and gearbox fitted yet "currently getting sorted very slowly" but it looks a lot better. Also Info off other forums I believe you can run your rear shocks with a 2 spline drop because they are long travel.Ive posted a question as to what shocks to use on volkszone but did'nt get an answer,I will keep an eye on this one,Hope you get an answer

The theory behind shocks is.....
Adjust the bus to the height you desire.
Take your dampers off.
measure the distance between the damper mounts.
Drop the bus down so that its sitting on its wheels.
Measure the distance between the mounts again.

ssp sell a range of dampers with a helpfull dimensions list, both fully open and compresed. Your job is to find a damper that 'about' fits your measrments. Because lowering can be so varied its difficult to say damper x is the correct one. Their are many avalible so its not too difficult these days.
I may be wrong...but from memory, gas dampers give a firmer/sporty ride and oil filled ones are softer, more comfortable.

I havnt dropped my bus much, just a tickle with front csp adjusters and a spline out back. With this i managed to keep my standard dampers.
