M plates and VINs 71 UK BAY

Could anyone out there tell me whether there is any truth in the rumour that there is a vin number somewhere near the air filter box in the engine bay.

Found the MPlate on the bulkhead behine the passenger seat, but ive heard its also hard stamped in the engine bay somewhere..??

If anyone had any info Id love to know..

It is not a rumour, the Vin is on the rear RHS chassis leg near the filter stand.
If yours is missing then start to do some checking....

This is from the owners manual.
(Note this is from a USA manual so the windscreen number does not apply to a UK bus.)

You can go onto "the samba" vw website and download and print yourself a copy of the relevant owners manual.
