Lovely campmobile. Great sensible upgrades as well. I will be interested in your review as I fancy a disc upgrade at some point. Some I've seen will only fit with alloy wheels and I want to stay standards steel wheels.

Thanks Rob. Wanting to stay standard was the deciding factor for me going CSP tbh. However I may increase the tyre size to change the gear ratio a tad when I get the engine done. Will get back with a update :)

Ok, a little review bearing in mind that they are not bedded in fully yet. The mechanic said they were easy to fit and are good quality and that money in labour was definitely saved if I went for something more elaborate. They are very much more responsive with an awful lot less effort needed from the right leg. Its hard to average a guess but id estimate about 50% improvement/stopping power on top of what the drums offered. They are obviously not as sharp as my 2016 plate car but in between the two. I certainly felt more confident with the cars I've met on the lanes so far. Hand on heart a big concern for me since getting the van was what if a child ran out in front of me, id never stop......That concern has definitely gone now :) Are they worth the money, I can't answer that for everyone else but for me although it was a expensive unseen upgrade I'm happy with my purchase. If they fall apart and turn out to be crap I will put on another update.

The buttys bits throttle linkage is a massive upgrade for not a lot of ££ and highly recommend fitting one too. Progressive acceleration that I'm sure must save petrol?

Thanks for he review I have it down on my to do list now. I had he buttys throttle linkage already fitted when I got mine and it seems good and very much like my old late bay. Only thing I've noticed is when I start to press he pedal it does nothing till it's a little way down but could be down to needing adjustment. I like this thread, keep up the good work.

For the eagle eyed, we have a name change. Hope it doesn't bring on bad dub joo joo!! We have been split on names since day 1 and its back to the original name. Now we know our bus and have bonded, its definitely a Mater :)

Exciting times :p Bits are starting to trickle through the door. Yesterday my Csp manifold kit and CSP carb linkage kit and today a pair of twin Dell 36 DRLA's :party0049:

Always loved this bus and I am sure Alistair is pleased that you are showing it love with sensible mods.

I too will be going for a csp disc kit when the time comes.

Who did your waxoil treatment out of interest?

Yes I love this bus too. I'd be interested in what you've done wax oil wise as that's on my list soon. I fancy using fe123 converter and then maybe traditional wax oil although he dinatrol kit looks good.

Cheers Who, cracking bus for sure. Other than upgrading the mechanics my intention is to carry on preserving the bus as it is just as Alistair had done. Im already dreading the day when necessary bodywork repairs make it look too patchy, a good 5-10 years away hopefully before the bare metal straighten up.....will be mixed emotions for sure.

A friend who is a Mechanic done the Waxoil for me. To be honest he was a little conservative for my liking and will probably get it done again next year. The underside is undercoated in white so he was a bit nervous of spoiling the finish I think, although just doing the seam's does make sense. I may shell out for a small compressor and do it myself as its got to save hundreds over the years.

Im well pleased with the brakes, the wife happier now too :)

Thanks Rob, not sure about the dinatrol although I've only heard good things from what research I did. I settled with wax oil as its what the majority of specialist companies tend to use and was what my guy happened to have. Getting into all the seem's is the most important and door drain off channels. When I get it done again every single hole in the bus will get filled, maybe a bit ott though....

Few more bit's through the letter box today, nothing to exciting mind!! Gear change bush kit, Gear coupling set, Oil pressure sender, Oil temp sender and gauge bracket.

Nice ! They will help to shove you up the hill out of Polzeath ! :)

Haha yeah hope so!! I live in the Tamar Valley and everywhere is a steep hill, so a wise upgrade I reckon

The new shifter arrived today, 1st impressions are that its very solid and well made, I think it will make a world of difference. I like the chrome effect too as it works well with the O/G door fitting's, dial surrounds and a 1970's radio I have my eye on. I dare not get the radio at the moment as the other half is
starting to notice high parcel volume with my name on, it is my birthday in a fortnight though :msn4: Maybe need to get a neighbour on the team

Just sorting out some reconditioned LHD steering bit's, thought while its in getting everything else done next week may as well get the steering 100%. Not a lot wrong with what I have atm but there is a slight knock so may as well get it changed while convenient. Anyone have any suggestions where I can send the box coming off for a recon :?:
