Sorry to start another brake topic, but its a different issue, after refitting the brakes on the van i decided to bleed the system, the problem i have now is that although all of the brakes are adjusted properly, the only ones to lock up are the front offside and rear nearside, there is no air coming from the remaning two cilinders, but they just dont stop as effectivley as the others, also the master cilinder is very spongy, it will lock up the tyres, but then if you keep your foot on it, it will slowly go to the floor, could this be a problem with the master cilinder ??

Thanks

Mark

if its going to the floor you have a leakage somewhere, either air or fluid. :?

fixed the problem today, my father noticed that the brake fluid was dissapearing dramaticaly, i looked at the rear wheel, it was soaking, when i removed it, the the drum was covered in brake fluid, somehow the pads had come adrift from the metal, this had allowed the slave cilinder to pop out of its housing, causing the leek, i have rebuilt the drum, just need to bleed it and adjust it now :)

should be ready for vw action :)
