My 71 Has Small 5 Pattern

Discs on the front and hubs on the back. Does this mean someone converted it?

Nope, 71 was the first year with power discs as an option, I think that was the year the stud pattern went to pcd 112 as well. Lucky us eh?

its easy enough to convert to 73 n on
get some second hand stub axles, calipers and discs are avalible new and the calipers are not only bigger but so are the pads.
well worth doing!

My mates 69 is small 5, its been converted at some point.

Hes gutted though, cos the stock vented wheels look wrong.

My 70 bus (August) has small 5 with disks and servo. I think it must have been one of the fisrt to get this upgrade. I like the look of wide 5, but it's great to have brakes you can rely-on :wink:

my 70 had 5x112 as original..its now 5x130 all round :lol:

if anyones looking for a complete set of early (71) front discs, calipers etc my mate Jp has a set hes trying to sell complete with stub axles etc all in good nick - only removed due to him doing my 5x130 conversion as well. if anyones interested let me know ill put you in touch.

I'm gonna stick to wide 5 drum brakes all round, just spent loads of time n' effort refurbing them all round, new pipes and flexis, honed and rebulit cyliders and new adjusters. People with drum brakes are harder.
