Took my bay out today. I was feeling guilty about it not being in a good state to take to wheels day.
I reset the valves, fitted electronic ignition, timed it up & balanced the carbs. It was running a bit rough as it still had the USA petrol in the tank. It was on less than quarter of a tank when I got it so I filled it up for the first time today. It shows the lack of use it's had since I have had it.
I runs a bit better now but still has a slight flat spot. It's a 1641 GAC motor with a 110 cam & 40's. When you rev it, it starts to really fly but the gearbox runs out of revs. I am thinking that the 110 is not a good choice for a camper.
I am building a 2007 with 100 cam & am thinking of fitting that instead.

The van is stock ride height & the tracking is out due to the new track rod arms. It handles like a pig! The brakes are crap too.

I am going to start on the bodywork tomorrow as I am fed up of looking at my very own rat look hoodride piece of crap...

Hopefully a lowered disk brake beam & late brake rear setup will find its way on to the van. I will hide my crime with a set of Porsche Design 90's.

I swipped them off the bug before I sold it!

Will take some pics as I get stuck in tomo...

I will get the tyres put on this week so they are ready to go. I have 5x112 to 5x130 adaptors ready to go. I have a set of 5x205 to 5x130 being machined to fit at the mo too. I am gonna stash all the wide 5 stuff & run a later setup. i plan to do a few Euro trips this year & can't be arsed with the wide 5 agro.

(My old 68 bay had wide 5 brakes & they worked fine. It rode great too. I think it's just easier to fit disks as I don't have a lot of time).

Ok, I started the filler work on the front panel & off side arch. I still have some more work to do before the primer goes on...

You get the idea...

Good work Pete , you respraying the whole bus then , keeping same colour mate?

Yea, total respray in the original pearl white...

I need to get my finger out if it's gonna make big bang!

Hi Pete, liking what you have planned and the work done so far :D

Would die for a set of Fuchs like you have - if you decide not to use them
on your van, what would you want for them :?:

They are tucked away for now. It was a mission to get them & took for ever to polish & detail them.
They made my fingers bleed!

Thay are not for sale. I will swap between the 2 sets as I feel like it.
I have a set of 6 & 7" cookies that I ill get painted all gloss black soon. These will be the winter wheels...
