New front panel question

Has anyone used one of the new front replacement panels?

I really want get a original panel but availabilty is not so good - FBI advised they will have some rust free stock mid December, but my resto will be held up if i wait around

The problem i have with the new panel is the middle centre circle that sticks out - has anyone got around this problem i.e

That page on my thread details how I did mine. I believe some people just whack it in gently with a hammer and filler it. I didn't want to risk ruining the front panel though.

The page before details the inner front panel if you need that bit too.

Generally, it wasn't too bad to fit but I had some problems with one of my A pillars being slightly too far forwards compared to the door, so I had to seam weld it and persuade it into the correct place with a hammer :)

One thing I didn't mention on my thread was the lip at the bottom of the repro panel. I cut it off as earlies do not have the lip. I then seamed it to the lower bottom front panel, and it only needs a very small skim of filler.

This pic shows my front panel as it is now, where I did the welding.

I havn't had a chance to get the filler on it yet.
