new(ish) 1600 vege engine oil type

please can someone suggest oil type for my 1600 vege engine which was new in 2006 - also any web info available on this engine - thanks

I use Halford's classic motor oil in my VEGE 1600. Its perhaps a year or two older than yours, it's done around 14k miles.

Can't help with engine info tho...

Morris 20w50 about 8 quid for 5 l, great oil tried a few other bus seems happiest running this, and its much cheaper than the strait 30 grade.

I have a standard sp 1600 just had a load of work done on the engine and my man said use 10w 40 semi synthetic. Not sure if this is any good or not

Would not use semi synthetic, these engines were design to run on an oil that is fully mineral. Have run my on semi synthetic oil in the past and the oil seemed to denature much quicker that the full mineral oils Ive tried.
