Hi All,

Just joined this wk and not even got my hands our first van for a couple of weeks, but nowt like a bit of planning!

Apart from job no.1 (waxoyl), first job on our list is to give it a a good clear out and fit a floor. It's currently a bus and we've no immediate plans to change. But if we were to fit a leisure battery and control unit in the future for weekend breaks etc, would any wiring need to be routed under the flooring?

I've seen a few pics of people fitting insulation, plywood, flooring to their vans and everyone seems to be adopting a diff method. The bit that seems to be puzzling me is how are you fastening all the layers down to the orig metal floor??? I did read one article and the guy just screwed straight into the metal floor, and not sure i like the sound of that!

Many beginners questions to follow! :?

Cheers
Craig

I glued down my insulation then fitted the ply floor by using small angle brackets screwed in to the ply floor and in to the internal metalwork of the body structure, all of which are then hidden by the cupboards etc. The R&R bed frame sits on top and is screwed down through the floor through the metal and then covered underneath to prevent rust. Does that help?

Aslong as ur cupboards are secured to the sides, and u have a rnr/ other,
ur floor should hold itself

Minor problem in that we have no cupboards or RnR! :0) completely orig microbus. But I'm guessin if we're putting the 2 bench seats back in they will hold everything down when fastened?!

Cheers
Craig
