Greetings to you all from (at last) sunny Suffolk!
Purchased my 71 tin top earlier this year and being a VW new comer thought it would be a good idea to join your forum.
The bus is in hospital at the moment on a life support system awaiting further transplants of new steel to be followed by cosmetic surgery. Not certain how long this will take but I have a feeling I won't be going far this year!
I will be doing the interior based around a full R&R bed with some form of kitchen pod. Any ideas or thoughts on this would be very helpful.
When I have worked out how to do it I will post some pictures of the finished bus. I am sure you have all seen work in progress ones so I won't depress myself by posting those.
I live in Bury St Edmunds and if another owner is close it would be great to meet up.

Well I like seeing resto pics!!!!
Especially welding ones, as that's what I'm learning to do at the minute!!!

Oh & hello, n welcome along!!! :D

Hi Albert
I'm not far from you. I'm in Stowmarket. I have just got my 71 bay on the road after a big resto so I'm fairly new to it all. Who is doing your work?
Regards Dan

Hi Albert , welcome to the VW world as said put up pictures so we can see your bus

I am from Woodbridge in Suffolk , there is a lot of people on here from Suffolk

Good luck on the resto

Hey Albert. Welcome along and don`t be shy about popping pictures on because we all like to see the pictures, before during and after so we can see what is happening (nosey we is) ;) .My best advise is to roll with it with just a rock and roll bed and see how you get on after a few expeditions in the bus. There are a heck of a lot of people that don`t cook in their bus and cook outside with a portable cooker of various descriptions. The only cooking in my bus is a cup of coffee in bed before I get up in the morning  Do 99.9999% of my cooking in the gazebo on the side or the bbq out front. But try it out first and see how it works for you. Now join in and don`t be shy

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Did I mention some pics ?

Many thanks for your replies. I will post some pictures but until my IT expert turns up you will have to bare with me.
I will heed the advice about the interior and see how the bus works for us after some use. My wife and I spent the the weekend camping and I am certain that when I replace the drive away awning it will be with an air beam version! ( Does a Royal Traveller 4 drive away have a value?)
Dan, it would be great to meet up and talk VWs. You could show me yours but I can't show you mine as she is still in London undergoing body restoration. Give me a call 07870 205643.
Bit of further advice please.....How difficult is it to replace a full length head lining and who sells a good one? I am happy to have a go but should it be done by an expert?
