Hi Yall
Does anyone know which type of Oil Bath Air Filter i need for my stock 1600 TP that fits in this corner, and also how does it mounts to the body, i have seen some with a mounting tray, but our bus has not got one (1969 RHD Early Bay)
A photo of the one i require would be nice, or has anyone got one for sale

Many Thanks

Vinvan

This tells you which one you need:

You don't have to use the 'right' one for the year - my 68 has a wax thermostat operated one

You will need a stand to mount it on - they come up occasionally on ebay but might be better to put a wanted ad on here first and if no luck try one of the breakers like volksheaven

Looks like your original stand has been removed, probably had twin carbs fitted at some point in the past

I have an oil bath filter, rubber pipe in super condition and the remains of a filter stand that I chopped out of my engine bay. Your engine bay looks so nice that I'd mod the stand to be bolted in place. I've seen others fitted by using rivnuts, this looks tidy.

I'll send you pics of what I have.

Hi Yall
Still trying to figure out which is the correct oil bath filter for our bus "as photo above our bus has no filter stand and looks like it never had one"
so do i have to fit a stand or is there a different filter, i have found some pictures off the web
so has anyone any ideas which is the correct one

Think this is the one that needs a stand

This may be the one i need " but how does it attach to the body work in the engine bay?"

All help appreciated

Thanks
Vinvan

The air cleaner in the first picture would have been the original in your bus. I don't have a clearer picture of mine, but in this one you can kind of see the bracket.

There are some clear pictures of the filter and stand in this thread.

The first one you posted is the cable operated type. Later ones were a bit easier as they operated off a vacuum from the carb and a wax stat.

If you want to run an original one you will need to put a stand back in place.

I have a couple of air filters I will be putting up for sale soon. One came off my bus and is the later vacuum type. I think the other is the earlier cable operated one but I'd have to have a look at it.
