what sort of price would i expect to pay to repair the sill under the windscreen ( the usual part that starts to rus) or how easy is this type of repair to DIY??

Depends how rusty it is and whether you need paint and welding or just welding. I reckon £150-£200 to weld these in and repair small sections of the inner windscreen surround.

If you need a bigger section like the klassicfab panel from the bulge up and the inner windscreen surround as well, it's obviously more because it takes longer to weld in, plus you have to move the dash and paint the whole front.

hi thanks. its about an inch down so maybe able to get away with the smaller sections. not to bothered about paint as i would just use a best match for the time being

Schofields do 2 different types, that 3 piece on that VWH sell is a schofield one, but schofields are a bit cheaper, or they do the top part of the front panel, if the rust is only where the seal sits then that 3 piece version will be good for you.

They do one which comes down to the grille for about £140.00 but i cant find that on their site.

i have had a closer inspection i may need to buy the larger panel so i will keep my eye out. but thanks for your help
