Hi Dave,
It was good to speak to you earlier and great news that you’re happy for us to come and film at Dubs at the Castle on Saturday 21st July as part of our Micro Design show for Channel 4.
The six-part series, presented by George Clarke (Restoration Man, Build A New Life In The Country), will showcase some of the most innovative and stunning small-scale projects happening around the UK, where a small space is being transformed into something amazing, cool, quirky or beautiful. For example: suspended rooms, houseboats, shipping containers, beach huts, sheds, garden rooms, tree houses or a room within a room etc. As mentioned, George is buying and renovating a 70s static caravan over the duration of the series, and is travelling to other projects to gain inspiration and tips.
We would love to meet with VW campervan owners at your show, particularly focusing on new vs old when it comes to restoration, so someone who scours the internet for hours or spends a fortune on the historically accurate part for their van, as well as someone who has renovated theirs in new and innovative ways would be great. As discussed we can meet lots of people on the day providing they are happy to be filmed, but it would be ideal to have a couple of individuals that we have spoken to in advance and whose stories and vehicles match our brief. Therefore, bearing in mind the new vs old theme, please do have a think and speak to your friends and contacts to check they are happy to be involved, then pass their contact details along with any photos of their vans to me.
I would also love to see pictures of yours and your sister’s vans.
