Thats a bummer for the guys who cant garuntee there free.....a bit harsh

I think it is unfair too, especially if like me you can't guarantee your bus will be ready. I had an unexpected problem with my bus that I only managed to fix a day before VF. I certainly won't be pre booking for next year.

:( :(

Yeah its a bit off as these buses are 40years old now and keeping them/getting them to the condition required by a lot of guys is hard work and not garunteed....

Like me I was badly let down by the spray shop......not good....we need to voice our objections club stylee....

Whats forced that decision????

I almost couldn't make it too had a mad rush at the end to get ready.Could there be a deadline set for refunds if you can't go?

Well I won't be going then, I didn't make it this year and I really can't plan more than a few weeks in advance :(

Also, is it true that all clubs wishing to camp together must have their own 3rd party insurance next year.

This year I was partly the cause of their problems - arriving unbooked at 8pm.

However I do understand their position as the only thing they could do was dump us in the adjacent field. If the organisers had been anyone other than stressed volunteers I'd have been fuming at being one of the first in yet penultimate out of the field as no-one was taking control of what to do with us.

If I can get into Vanfest pretty soon after arrival, and then enjoy the evening, I am happy to prebook. In fact if bookings opened today I'd book right now!

They do need to consider some kind of tentative booking system at a fiver more perhaps, with payments only finally taken a couple of weeks ahead of the weekend, for those who may or may not be able to get their vans running in time.

In spite of my troubled arrival I had a great time and can't wait to get back there!

2007 is my last VF and I have been to a lot of them (94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 07). It is just too expensive, £70 it cost me and my mrs. This year the autojumble sucked, I was miles from a shower and the toilets were disgusting. Now if I want to go again and camp I have to book months in advance and have special insurance if I want to camp with my club. Don't get me wrong I had a great weekend but it wasn't worth £70, not when you consider that BVF was about £40 at the same venue.

let's hope showaddywaddy are busy next year as well - why not try and book suzi quattro.

oh come alive....

....down in devilgate drive etc

it ws our first campover and yes it is expensive and the toilets seemed to lose all soap, the autojumble was a bit rubbish, but we really enjoyed it. A bit like Glastonbury as well in that if thousands boycott due to rising prices etc, others will take their place.

also was talking to a friend and he said this and supply own fire fighting stuff few extinguishers, buckets etc :?: :?: :?:

Dont know what i'll be doing next weekend let alone 10months time, not good at planning far in advance. Like doing things of the cuff.

I ain't gonna lose sleep over it

I guess it reflects how healthy the scene is?
