Hi,

Anyone got a protech shelter for their van? At the monet i've just got a JK cover on it and its rubbing the paint work off as well as still letting water in so i'm thinking about one of these shelters.

Has anyone got one and are they any good?

also looking at the drive i'm wondring if theres actually going to be enough room and you excuse the phrase erect them around your bus or is it a case of driving into it? If so i'd have to take the little fence down between me and next door and use their drive for access something i'm not sure they'd like!

Your thoughts as always very welcomed.

thought you'd sorted a garage out....
I think youll find it a ball ache to keep erecting it theres the the inflating buildings http://www.tectoniks.com/domes.php various other manufacturers http://www.airshelter.com/airshelter-5.php or 5 second tents we use at work think they do them big enough for a bus http://www.sheerspeed.com/ (look in the railway section welding tents  ) and http://www.karstententen.co.uk/site_index.php?page=204&parent=55&lang=3&id=8&taal_id=3

the selfish old lady who had agreed to let me her garage decided to move into a care home so the van is out front still for the for see able future i'm afraid.

Think its time to suck up to next door then lol.

If we have another meet Ill bring one along we can always use it as a shelter if it gets chilly or somwhere to house the BBQ/Coffees
quick to put up and down light weight and plenty of natural light enters it....

dunno there works not sure could chat with the guy that bought them but then they were all branded as well which bumped up the costs..... as I said being railway tents they are weld proof as well (to a degree).....

i'm lethal enought with a screw driver so seriously doubt i'd ever be doing any welding lol.

just finishing the drawings for the hinges and modelled them in 3D in CAD to so hopefully they will get them right as there being produced from a computer based cutter apparently!

nice one....

I'm hoping that when I bring one of these tents home to use it when working on the van just butting it up to the van lots of room inside for tools etc and its easy to put up and down..just shelters me...still looking for summit to shelter the whole van since I have less room than you to play with on the sides otherwise Id have a bigger version or the Protech permanently anchored....

I've looked at these tents, especially with this bloody weather, as i have to work outside on my Bay but cant really justify £350 for a tent.
Just means the Bay is getting no closer to an MOT

I think creai was creationblue could be wrong got one. I know it was someone from bristol area.

But i could be wrong. I am told i am wrong 95% of the time by her indoors.

I have a Protech shelter (tell her your not always wrong  ) Give me a shout if you need any info

Mine has (so far) held up the winds very well, the prevailing winds hit the front (not ideal), but the van is kept dry that was the main reason for buying. As for putting the thing up, you only want to do it once and its deffinatly not something to do on a daily basis!
