Rear Brake Pressure Regulator

Hi all

Have a leaking rear brake pressure regulator seems to be coming from the gasket , though i don't seem to be able to find anyone that sells these , are these serviceable ? are spares available ? are there any workarounds ?

Do a search on here. Some people have stripped & cleaned these to return them to serice.

On the subjuct of gaskets. When ahh were a lad ...... most people who tinkered with cars to keep them on the road, used to make all their own gaskets.
Use cornflake boxes or various types of paper. Hold paper over mating face & rub really firmly with grubby fingers & cut out with scissors - Blue Peter stylee. If there are bolts or studs then cut these holes first to give you a datum.

Have a look. It's much more satifying than buying new! Having said that do realise your limitations - it is the brakes after all.

Hi Yeah im not opposed to a bit of blue peter( i quite like it in fact) , just not really confident to strip it down without a back up plan !

I've read through a few on here/and tutsamba and seems some just do away with them , and sure thats fine 99% of the time
but its there for a reason so would ideally like to replace , then have a go at repairing the old , late bay one's are different , but readily available not sure if that would work ? , I've put a note in the wanted section to see if anyones got one .

Not really sure how others that upgrade front drums to discs work as obviously they don't have them , and they seem to cope fine
so maybe I'm just over thinking things , but i like things ( especially brakes ) to be right .

Lots more research / reading today , see if some one else has had figured out a solution , or if I'm just being overly cautious , and should try fix and if it goes tits up just bypass .
