Bought a pair of genuine chrome rear light lens at vanfest expecting them to fit onto the lens but they are too small.

I thought they'd be the same size but obviously they aren't as these lens were fitted before its first MOT when the garage took my us spec ones off.

Anyone got any lens that will fit my genuine chrome rims please.

In what sense are they too big?

I know the aftermarket euro ones have a thicker edge to them and most peeps just trim it down a little

we sell these in the Baydreamers shop...the chrome ring and lens are all one piece, no more rusty bits!

I've got a pair on the Beeglebus and they look the business....honest!

£43 a pair plus p+p

I know what you mean, I bought some of those stainless rings and they ended up being too small to fit the lenses.

My present lenses are like the ones pictured with the chrome surround already in the lens, they look great so although I still have the surround things in the shed these lenses are definitely an alternative.

Carole, are these Hella lenses? May need one to replace the 'crunched' one from this morning but I want to make sure it's the same.

good morning G in th B.....

Yes, these lenses are genuine Hella ones, really good quality. I've got 3 pairs in stock at the minute.

Have a look at them in the Baydreamers shop.....

Cheers, Carole

Thanks for the replies, the rings are gen vw, but the lens appear just slightly too big and the rings wont clear the edges to seal them. Are there seperate lens for the deluxe models that had the chrome rims that would be that bit smaller.

Those new sets look nice, but dont want to be left with 2 rings that i cant sell.

I did the same thing at vanfest about 6 years ago, bought the rings only to find they didn't fit my lenses.
Popped the lens's in the vice and trimmed the edge with a junior hacksaw to fit.
Sealed up a treat and looked 8)

I made my cheapo repro lenses fit by buzzing the edge with a floppy gringing disc until the original SWF rims fitted.

It was the cheapest way to do it, although the lense isn't the best quality, but the original SWF chrome rings are the best you can get.

thats the same as what I did with my swf chrome rings. the aftermarket cheap lenses can be cut with a junior hacksaw:
