Hi, Iv just gone to fit a 3 point seat belt in the rear only to find that the anchor point on the wheel arch has been covers over, I can see from the outside where it is but their is no longer a whole from the nut through to the inside.
What I would like to know what is the best cause of action?
Will a new mount new to be welded in? Or can I drill through and if needed replace the nut.

This looks like it’s had a bit of a repair already, do you have the other belt mounts ? I would carefully drill from the outside with a very small bit in the centre of that nut then try and keep it central getting a little bigger each time. Before I got to the stage where I’m almost the right sized hole, I’d then clean up the nut with some oil and a bolt then pop a bolt into the nut from the outside and screw it until it’s poking in to the inside just a tiny bit then id drill from the inside with the right sized bit and then I’d hit the bolt when I went through and everything would be fine and dandy. However because it’s a seatbelt point I’d recommend that you don’t do that and you get it looked at by a specialist like Halfords.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,funny thing belts,, :)
