I recently lowered the back of my bus using adjustable spring plates and got it at the right height, only to find that it's resting on the bumpstops. How many ribs can I cut off and keep thing safe? Thanks.

A lot of people remove them completely and even delete the bracket.

Not sure really as it had been fiddled about with before I got my hands on it. I've got it lowered as far as it will go on the adjusters, and the rim on the 15inch wheel is near enough inline with the top of the arch with the bumpstop just making contact. I don't think cutting of just one rib will give me enough travel.

Cut 2 off then mate I ran it like that in my bus for a long time then I removed it completely as I went down a bit more,

Just keep an eye on your driveshafts / CV boots as I think these will be the next thing to hit the chassis if you cut down your bumpstops too far. Ideally, you want you bumpstops to be cut down just enough that you don't cause anything else to collide - but bear in mind that these will compress as well, so effectively creating a little more wheel travel.

I`ve got mine cut down to just the last bump left. I`ve also drilled through the last bump horizontally from front to back and from left to right with a quarter inch drill. That will give you a little more compression because as the bumps get bigger you don`t get so much ` ` squish ` ` from the rubber .
