Rear view mirror question...

I have an aftermarket rearview mirror (ugly bugger ...) glued to the frontscreen of my 69/70 bus and want to replace it with an org one. Question is, whether later earlybay and latebay rearview mirrors are identical??? I have a latebay one and it seems to fit, but is it the correct one - black mirror surround and white stem

My May'69 has what I believe to be an OG mirror, and it matches your description.

The 69/70 has a black mirror with a white stem, but they differ from year to year. As long as they twist 90 degrees instead of being screw mounted. I have my eye on a NOS 71 mirror, but it's very slightly different in style. Tempted to paint my ugly yellowed stem instead!

I twisted it on and it fits, looks right aswell.
I soaked the yellow stained stem in a mixture of dishwashing liquid and bleach, then gave it a good scrub - looks almost white now . That will do until the right one shows up
