Reliable welder (the man, not the machine :)

I need to do something with the front window of our van, it leaks like a sieve so I suspect that when I remove the very cracked and dry seal there may be a whole host of horrors underneath.

Could anyone recommend from experience a bodyshop in the Bath/Bristol area that are familiar with vws and could replace the lower lip without financially crippling me for the summer?

Try MAD workshops in Bristol, or if you dont mind driving to Westbury Vw Evolution, they both have websites and have good reputations. Im sure they may even give you a verbal price over the phone ?.

I did pop in to VW Evolution and although I wouldn't knock their work as from what I've seen I think everything they do is 100%, they do charge top dollar so ideally I'm looking for somewhere that is able to do the work to the same standard but is a lighter on the wallet.

Has anyone used the MAD Workshop in Bristol?

going to take the windscreen seal out as I have to do something with it, if it's not to major I'll have a go myself, if it looks really bad I would prefer to pay a professional to sot it out as my welding skills aren't up to it at the mo' in such a prominent place.

I fear it will be the latter so I'd like to have an idea of what plan B may involve before I pop out the window.
