How do you remove the lock/barrel from the sliding door handle on an Early Bay. I can see an oval pin going through - is it that that needs knocking out?

Thanks in advance guys

i don't know but not the oval pin, thats your lock and it should be massive and not removable

i made it myselve couse it was missing and the lockbarel was n't loose

Be careful removing the grub screw as its somtimes locked in with a dab of paint, make sure the slot is nice and clean. once removed insert the key and the lock barrel should come out. Be careful when you pull the key from the barell as all the wafers may fall out and if these get mixed up the lock will no longer match your key.

Sorry to dig up an old thread... but I am a bit stuck with this.

I have removed my grub screw, but don't have the right key to remove the barrel.
Is there another way to remove it?

Hi MartyMcFly,
Well if you have managed to get the grub screw out you have done the hardest bit! What you need to do now is insert a key, it can be any key not necessarily the one that works the lock. you then have to use the key to wiggle the lock barrel free. Obviously if its the wrong key you wont be able to turn the barrel but you should just have enough play to pull the barrel straight out without turning the barrel.
If you need any help on rekeying it to match your ignition let me know.

Good Luck.

It seems to be stuck solid! I tried another key, but there is no movement at all and it is definitely red face tight!

I have got another barrel, so i'm not too worried about damaging it if comes to that.
I'm going to leave it to soak overnight and see if that helps first.
