How does the frame of the devon poptop come off? I know the roof is just the 5 screws on each side and the trim holding the bellows, but I can't see how the fibreglass frame that sits directly on the roof comes off - help appreciated.

its glued and screwed to a wooden frame all the way around. the wooden frame is screwed to the roof. I broke about half of all the screws and they looked like cheap flat head screws which the majority had rusted out. I would try to soak them with WD40 or similar for a while first before removal.

I ended up using a wide pry bar to pull the wooden frame off the broken screw heads.

be very careful as the fibreglass edge is quite brittle

Don't suppose you've got any pics of how it looks with the canvas out of the way, Johnny?

;)

if you can get away with just releasing the headlining around the inner edge you could get away with gluing it back, it will require some delicate cutting once the edging is removed. Mine was ok but im changing to mohair anyway so the whole lot came out. theres a strip of foam padding and the lining is only glued on the very top edge of the fiberglass lip and the edging pushed over this.

Its difficult to get pics as theres a load of crap inside the van (engine, inspection hatch and several doors  ) and and the poptop is just sitting on inside a low roofed garage. ill see if i can push it out but it would be this weekend sorry.
