with resprays you get what you pay for, unless they come recommended

I have a good guy i use near stansted, only cost be just over 2k for a full bare metal respray at the time, and he does a good job

The guy that did mine is good but you wont see your van for a couple of years, slow is an understatement but the finish is good.... wittlesey way..... he'll be about 2-3K, saying that hes got himself a little more established now...

1K aint a lot of money at all for all the work involved, really cant see the job being top notch, maybe a year or two to tide you over, but then you gotta think whats under it all :?

pays yer money, takes yer chance....

If your limited on your budget get the prep done have the panels replaced and sealed for the time being, save for a full respray next year......

If you do all the prep work, masking and sanding between coats you can save yourself a fortune. A large part of any re-spray is preparation and this is reflected in the cost. If you do the donky work then you only have to pay the experts wages for the work he is an expert at.

A paint job is only as good as the prep work beneath it.
A lot of places won't accept part prepped vehicles or guarantee the finish.
Also if you choose to prep the van yourself remember you'll need to pay for all the materials (more expensive than you think!) and either buy or borrow the right equipment.

I'd say the best thing you can do is strip the van out yourself and let the professionals do the job from start to finish.
Then again you'll need to work out the cost for them to strip and rebuild against you paying for a trailer or similar.

thats what i did, stripped the van completely, left the drivers seat and glass only, my painter collected it as a driving bus/rolling shell, and delivered it back for me to refit
