RHD 1971 Early Bay Devon Moonraker

I have come to a hard decision once again, to sell my beloved Bus of 13 years.

My Bus is an original UK RHD 1971 Devon Moonraker van in near perfect condition from top to bottom complete with its original Devon Moonraker interior. It has been kept looking original but with a few subtle twists!!!

The Bus went through a full restoration just short of 5 years ago and was repainted in its original Neptune Blue L50k. I'm the 3rd owner and it required very little bodywork and it 100% original underneath. I have a full photo library of the work carried out.

The Bus comes with full comprehensive documentation, MOT’s, receipts for more or less everything from new including the original invoice of purchase from the VW dealer from in 1971......Colindale vw service station!!!

The engine is the original unit (engine code confirmed on the birth cert) which was cleaned checked and rebuilt by Laurie Petit and has been increased in size slightly to 1641cc. . Electronic ignition and alternator upgrade for trouble free motoring. The engine is highly maintained and starts first time and runs perfectly smooth.

1971 is the first year that Vw installed disc brakes up front, which gives you the early bay look with the added braking. I had it lowered a tad on the front end to level up the bus as it used to point upwards due to limited mileage.

The camper has all the original units, tables and Dudley cooker and unit, cab mat, cab seats.

The Bus has been recognised in the VW scene and won a few trophies at show’s in the last few years including The Robert Johnson Memorial Trophy Early Bay Award at CJ 2011 aswell as it recently having its own feature in Camper and Commercial magazine.

I have owned the vehicle since 2001 and selling it is not an easy decision but needs must.

If interested please contact me and I will happy to answer any questions you may have, and can Pm you my tel number if you want to chat...............the van needs to be seen to be appreciated.

Price - £19,000
