Rooflining

Hi all. Has anyone had a headline fitted recently? Just wondering what price to expect. I need a cab headlining and the poptop surround for my Devon"hole". Btw...does the trim generally stop at the rear of the "hole" or go all way back down the roof to the top of tailgate?

I recently fitted my own headlining after getting quotes from £600 up to £750
Got it from a guy from Norwich who advertises on eBay for £150
Never tried fitting one before but thought I had nothing to loose :shock:
Wasn't to bad to do as long as you take your time and don't rush into it
Now thinking about converting to a pop top so might end up doing it again :lol:

Got one to fit and been toying with the idea of fitting it myself.

Any advice?

Such as...
- Did you start from the front/back?
- What material have you used between the headliner roof?
- Also read that using wooden close pegs to stretch/hold the liner in place from the front windscreen helped.

I'm no expert so don't hold me to this but
Started front to back used clamps to hold the front in place then got the lining taught working it to the back then clamped it there as well. Then worked the sides around the windows and doors working any slack back or sideways . Once I was happy with the look of it I glued it around the windows and doors keeping the tension then the back and finally the front .


Sounds easy now :lol:


As I have said I took my time as when your cutting it you only get one chance !


Before I fitted it i stuck some sound deadening pads to the roof ( heating them up with the mrs hair dryer ) then i stuck on some foil backed bubble wrap type insulation ( from b&q ) using high temp contact adhesive

Even though I say so myself I'm well chuffed with the results

Norm - Cheers for the advice. Sounds like patience is the key!

Liam - Tidy job you've done there. Wouldn't be surprised if you get some requests from others to do their headlining.
