evening all! thinking of changing my shifter from an empi one(hacked off with the stick on hill starts,as it collides with the handbrake in 1st!)to a scat.are they as good as they lead you to think? any thoughts? cheers.

Had a scat shifter in our old baja and i will get one for the bus when funds allow. I prefer the t bar for reverse compared to the trigger on empi's.

My Brother in law has a scat shifter for sale .... I think ,
PM him he is flynster on here

Definitely get a SCAT shifter, money well spent. It honestly makes changing gear feel like a modern car, much quicker and smoother, I was absolutely stunned by the difference.

Easy to install, stick your bus in 2nd gear, unbold and remove old gear stick, bolt in scat shifter, job done.

Will get you a pic now.

Here you go, not brilliant pics but I had to rush out and do them as I am meant to be working ;)

Lovely to use to, nice and comfy.

I had one in my oval, will be putting one in my bay now too - they're great value.

£85 from VW Speedshop.

Are they easy to fit :?: , i have a stock stick at the mo and would like to make changing easier. If you get it wrong i can hit reverse instead of second :x and its usually with people looking at you......ouch

Check your linkage for wear/slack.
