I am reassembling the van, and seems to be plenty of holes. Can anyone show me a pic of a tiptop westy, that includes the rear view mirror and sun visors, so I can see how it looks. Do people screw the front on the headliner, looks like this was at some point.

Thanks

Just did a quick image search on google and the front part is wavy like in the photo below -

The picture is actually from RickyRooo1 so thanks to him!

I have cut a new headliner from the old one and followed that profile. It's more seeing one installed. Looks like they might have screwed my old one.

:) to confirm my headlining was hanging down and tickling my "skin coloured hair" (bald spot) so i cut a new one and stained it.

No screws in the headliner just the j rails at the side the natural fex pushes it up to the ceiling

That's how mine is fitted.

Definitely no screws.

My westy has the popper studs, I think for a curtain to clip onto but not sure, not in the wood though just around the window

So what are the other holes for near the rear view mirror?

Just put the J rails on tonight.
they do screw on in the middle either side of the mirror, if you look carefuly in the picture on the old one you can just see the screw holes either side of the centre cut out.

probably a DIY to stop the ply sagging, if it gets wet or damp it could sag, my old one did as is was full of rat piss when i brought it

If you have small holes either side of the rear view mirror it sounds like it may have been screwed up, due to there being no support for the ply across the windscreen. Or as someone else said, for poppers for the curtain.
Here is how I did mine. http://my1969vwmicrobus.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/fitting-my-birch-ply-headlining.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hope it helps...
